MAGORIAPITSE, 22 November 2025 – The future of sustainable farming was on full display this past Saturday as farmers from across the community and neighbouring districts gathered at Mr. S. Tsie’s Norwich Farms (Gamagangwa, Magoriapitse) for an intensive and highly practical training session, focused on enhancing crop yield and animal health through cutting-edge, organic methods.

Organized and sponsored by industry leaders Growfast Organic Liquid Fertilizer, Immune Booster, and Technisem, the event ran from 0900hrs to 1300hrs. It successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and on-farm application, drawing an engaging crowd eager to embrace innovative agricultural solutions.

The Shift Towards Organic: High Engagement Reported

The day was facilitated by agricultural experts Calvin Bogosing and Bonno Ratsiepe, who guided participants through a comprehensive agenda. A major theme emerging from the sessions was the overwhelming interest in sustainable and organic farming routes.

Seeds, Soil, and Practical Crop Management

A significant highlight of the morning was the technical deep dive into Technisem Seeds varieties, followed by an immersive farm tour led by the host, Norwich Fields.

Farmers were given a firsthand look at the highly sought-after Topaze F1 (Indeterminate Tomato) variety, which was already flowering profusely. This practical demonstration allowed participants to observe key developmental stages and receive vital instruction on Crop Management Practices, including essential pruning techniques necessary for maximizing the yield of indeterminate varieties. Other crops, though still in the seedling stage, provided excellent context for discussions on Soil and Seedling Preparation.

Mastering Fertigation: Precision Farming in Action

Perhaps the most technical and beneficial session focused on precision application methods. Farmers had the opportunity to learn about the highly concentrated Growfast products and how to effectively integrate them into their irrigation systems.

Facilitators demonstrated the proper technique for setting up a fertigation system, emphasizing the critical role of the Venturi injector. This hands-on training ensured that farmers understood how to use the Venturi mechanism to achieve the right dilution and evenly distribute fertilizer across their fields, a technique crucial for optimizing nutrient uptake and minimizing waste.

Collaboration and Commitment to Continued Education

The success of the training session was supported by the presence of key stakeholders, including dedicated BUAN students, officials from the Goodhope district office of Agriculture, and supportive partners Sima Solar and Farmers World.

The Goodhope district office of Agriculture expressed strong satisfaction with the training quality and officially requested that Growfast continue hosting regular demonstration and education sessions for area farmers, recognizing the profound impact of these practical workshops.

Furthermore, following the detailed demonstrations, many farmers requested that Growfast Agronomists visit their specific farms to conduct personalized follow-up demonstrations and assessments, confirming the immediate applicability of the knowledge gained.

To close a highly successful day, Growfast reinforced its commitment to supporting local agriculture by presenting every participant with a 1-Litre bottle of Yield Enhancer, ensuring they leave the session ready to implement their new knowledge immediately.

The event at Gamagangwa serves as a powerful testament to the collaborative spirit driving agricultural innovation in the region, positioning local farmers for a future of increased productivity and environmental sustainability.
